High School, exams, all that shit

May 24th, 2009

Possibly right on the matter of days I’m about to find out a lot of things about my future – I just made first choice that actually matters and will have significant influence on my future. High School.

Place, where I’m about to spend next 3 years, meet new – hopefully great people, discover new experiences, learn something. Finally something I can call a final step before being an adult – because according to the law, after high school, I can do whatever I fuckin’ want without asking parents. YES.
Unfortunately, notes are the problem. High school is not as easy to get into as previous schools. You need to have proper number of points collected at the end of the current school year (June) and their quantity depends on school you chosen. I, being ambitious and awesome, have picked one of the best school in the entire province (III High School in Gdansk) and am now having problems with getting into. Sure.

So, why did I picked this one? It’s easy, I always thought people with better notes are smarter (yeah, yeah, exceptions called no-lifers with knowledge from books instead of brain) and I hope to meet some great people in my new school. So far it definitely looks that way. And IB.
There were also exams, where you could get 100 points total (plus there comes notes, achievements, few other things). I can’t say I rocked ‘em. I hope to get at least 80 points, and based on my calculations and result of English exam to my class (taking place at 9th June, haven’t even start learinng) – that’ll be enough. What definitely sucks, is how I woke up and made this decision about school just few weeks ago. If I’d think earlier, I’d be learning entire term. Now I’ve got only two weeks to make all my notes good enough. Unbelievably hard task. But yet again, I’m awesome.
At first days of July I’m about to finally find out whether I made it to my dreamed school or I’m staying in this shithole. You see, when I’ll make it, I’m about to move to Gdansk. Do I even need to mention of its awesomeness comparing to this village I’m living in right now? Also, if everything goes well, in three years I’ll get the International Baccalaureate, as my school is one of 28 in Poland realizing program of it. HELL YES.
Stay tuned for the results, and… wish me luck. I’m gonna need it!
