Easiest way to visit China – DialNet Masters

April 7th, 2009

2008 was a good year. Lot of web experience gained, not worse results at school, and private life also very well. But probably the best part of it was a competition called DialNet Masters. Organised by Polish communications company – Dialog. It was the best way to win worth pretty much hardware (in our case, iPod Nano and few gadgets, unluckily we didn’t manage to win notebooks) and visit USA (also, we didn’t make it). In this edition, the main prize is trip to China. WE NEED TO WIN THIS.

Competition is for 4 people groups, and it’s basically about knowledge of Internet. One of the coolest topic possible, and one of the best ways to monetize your skills. First 2 stages are written on-line, on well working browser-based platforms. First one went just perfect – 29 points for 30 possible (1st place in the country, yay!), awesome organisation of looking for informations, and, I have to admit – questions were easy. This morning came the time for the 2nd stage. And that’d be enough, if I just write, that it was freaking hardcore. Open questions, ’select few answers’ ones, and just a few usual, simple with 4 possible answers and just one correct. The level was also unbelievably high, no doubt that organisators did something wrong. Finally, the result – 17 points, for 30 possible. Crap.

Hopefully, we still can manage to get to 3rd stage, although only 8 teams from the district are allowed. So far, feedback in internet sounds good – everyone wrote so bad. Waiting ’til Friday!

Dude, too bad I’m such a grumpy old fart (27 winters, already falling apart), because AFAIK this competition is only for highschool young wolves. Otherwise I would be anxious to take part in it as well. Nonetheless I’m gonna sacrifice some chocolate chip cookies to the gods of chaos, hoping they’ll give You strength and wisdom to crush your competitors – trip to China sounds damn great. Good luck!
