Designing for the Web

Web is full of self-called designers without enough amount of skill to be called so. But how can we deserve a designer title without wasting time on getting a degree? Amazon and other online books store comes with help – we might found there insane amount of books – from the most boring titles to such great reads as Mark Boulton’s A Practical Guide for Designing for the Web.

Wasting opportunities… and holidays!

When few months ago I thought about giving III High School in Gdansk a shot, it seemed too late to get my notes good enough. Still, I decided to try and spent last significant time in my present school on learning. Unfortunately, on Thursday my name didn’t show up at list of people admissed to pre-IB class. Only few points were missing, though. Now it’s probably first time in my life when I actually regret not spending enough time on learning.

Fortunately, at least my name’s printed on a list of people admissed to I High School in Starogard Gdanski. That’s something. And actually something I should be seriously happy about, since that’s the best school in this city and it’s somehow hard to get into. Aww, I love my insanely high expectations about everything.

For, as I hope, only next year I’m gonna be attending a class with extended history and knowledge of society – seemed like the best option.

So, why one year? In 2010, I’ll try to pass the exams to IB class itself (since pre-IB is a one-year class that prepares people for IB) – it’s gonna be hard, but right now I’m at the moment of willingness to learn English (and possibly gain FCE). Hopefully this urge won’t pass and I’m not gonna piss on it after holidays.

Anyway, now I have finally got holidays. Probably I’m not gonna do even one thing slightly relevant to anything (so far I am watching House and playing some games) important, but that’s what those 2 months are supposed to be about, right?

Only thing I’m waiting for right now is a camp I’m going to on next Sunday – Duszniki Zdroj, here I come!

The iPhone – software numbered 3.0

iPhone 3.0

Changes iPhone required right from the beginning of it’s existence became real. 3.0 software is the one that will stop complaints about lack of features and… well, being too innovative. Bugs have been fixed, cursed copy&paste has been added with over hundreds of other features – Apple is one step closer to perfection.

New software changes our phone from an awesomly fun toy to an even better smartphone. We’ve all been waiting for this!

At start, I need to mention, that I use 3.0 on first generation iPhone and it’s amazing how many stuff can change thanks to software changes and how powerful this device is. Entire system works as great as it has been working previously and even though 3GS is the only phone that provides us smooth work without lags – 2G is not far behind – still usable as hell.
